For administrators, please see the guide to Installing SPAT with Syncthing.
SPAT File Syncing
Spat uses a third-party syncing software called Syncthing ( https://syncthing.net/ ) to keep files up to date on all synced PCs.
Syncthing is a peer-to-peer system that allows rapid transfer of the entire SPAT contents onto the local PC from any connected SPAT user.
We have assembled the syncthing network of users and folders in such a way that the W drive is the authoritative version of SPAT content. Content on the W drive is administered using a separate tool, ICOM SPAT Admin. Once changes are made on the W drive, a single syncthing account (ICOM Sync Master) is set to watch the W drive and sync all changes from that folder to the other syncthing users. From there, other syncing users will receive the updated version synced by ICOM Sync Master and any of their peers that also have the newest version.
