Storyline Reporting and Tracking

Reporting

LMS

Determines the type of package that is published. SCORM 1.2, 2004, Tin Can, AICC. SCORM 1.2 is the most common and the only 1 that FiLMS accepts. 2004 is next popular and the rest are pretty much dead in the LMS world.

The rest of the detail on this tab you should never have to update, except LMS Reporting.

LMS Reporting

This determines what status the LMS is going to give the user when they exit the course. The client should be asked their preference. If you have a quiz/exam then the typical status is Passed/Failed. No quiz/exam would be Complete/Incomplete. The other 2 options are used less (Passed/Incomplete, Complete, Failed).

Tracking

The options will vary depending on the version of Storyline. I believe SL2 does not have a completion trigger option.

Slides

Used if we just want to track based on progress in the course. Would recommend leaving this as the least used option, has proven to be unreliable. If you are using SL 360, use completion trigger instead.

Quiz Result

MUST be used if you are passing quiz results or surveys to the LMS. Without this the user results will not be passed across. Also must have a results slide

Completion Trigger

Best option if not passing quiz results. Also best to place when timeline starts, on a slide at, or near, the end of your course.

That's it! Not much detail but important as we often have to re-publish when these settings are incorrect. Please ensure you get this detail from your Team Lead or PM when you publish a course.

Let me know if you have any questions.
