ICOM workers whose primary place of work is outside of the ICOM Calgary Office may still make use of ICOM laptops and phones.
Users should be logging into their laptops as a local user (eg: icom-lp49\jsmith) instead of an ICOM domain user (eg: ICOM\jsmith). This account may either be set as an administrator or they may have access to the built-in Administrator account for the laptop. The Administrator account's password can be changed by the user but ICOM IT will have used a standard password during deployment, listed here:
ICOM phones are VOIP and are setup to pull an IP address using DHCP. This requires that the remote worker have a network able to support DHCP. Most home office routers have this. When first setting the phone up, it may take several minutes for it to reconfigure itself.
