ECO - How to Use

Adding a New Page

    1. Open the editor menu
    2. Turn on “Edit Mode”
    3. Click the Plus Icon next to the Pages title
    4. Select “Create New Page”
    5. Click on “Unnamed Page”
    6. Change the page title by opening the edit menu and filling out the field under “Page Title”

Adding, Editing, Reordering, and/or Removing a New Page Element

    1. Open the editor menu (make sure edit mode is turned on)
    2. Under the Page Items section, select your page element from the drop down menu and hit the plus icon
    3. To edit a page element, click the Pencil icon in the lower left corner of your element
    4. To remove a page element, click the minus icon on the right of the page element you desire to remove.
    5. To change the order in which your page elements appear, use the up and down arrow icons to the left of the page element you would like to move

Different types of page elements

    1. Audio - Allows you to insert and play an audio clip
    2. Audio with Markdown - Allows you to insert and play an audio clip on the left side, plus text on the right side
    3. Comment - this is an element that allows you to enter in comments in a text field that only editors see in edit mode, it becomes hidden to users. It is a good tool for reviewing content.
    4. Course Launcher - Allows you to launch content from an LMS
    5. Divider - A graphical element used to divide sections
    6. Drag and Drop Matching Question - An interactive learning activity
    7. Image - Allows you to insert an image
    8. Image with Image - Allows you to insert 2 images, side by side
    9. Image with Image with Image - Allows you to insert 3 images, side by side
    10. Image with Markdown - A page element with an image on the left side and text on the right side
    11. Map and Markdown - A page element that allows you to set a map location on the left side, and text on the right side
    12. Markdown - A text element
    13. Markdown and Map - A page element with text on the left side, and map location on the right side
    14. Markdown with Audio - Text on the left side, audio clip on the right side
    15. Markdown with Image - Text on the left side, image on the right side
    16. Markdown with Stamp - Text on the left side, on the right side is a completable “stamp”. The user must click the stamp to verify completion
    17. Markdown with Video - Text on the left side, and an uploaded video can be inserted on the right side
    18. Markdown with Vimeo - Text on the left side, and a video hosted by vimeo on the right side. (video must have been uploaded to vimeo)
    19. Markdown with Youtube - Text on the left side and a video hosted by Youtube on the right side (video must have been uploaded to YouTube)
    20. Multiple Choice Question - A question with selectable answers, only one answer is correct.
    21. Multiple Select Question - A question with selectable answers, all applicable answers must be selected.
    22. Progress - This is an element to show the status of a tracking element or multiple tracking IDS. This is a very useful but confusing element so it is best to show in person, Parkland uses it as a check list to show what needs to be completed.
    23. Sketchfab - Inserts Sketchfab element
    24. Stamp - A completable “stamp”. The user must click the stamp to verify completion
    25. Stamp with Markdown - A completable stamp on the left side, text on the right side
    26. Video - Inserts a video onto the page. This video will be uploaded and hosted on Eco’s servers
    27. Video with Markdown - Video hosted on Eco on the left, Text on the right
    28. Viewed - This is a tracking element that can be placed on the page and assigned a tracking ID to, it is invisible to users and the tracking is set to true once it has been viewed.
    29. Vimeo - Inserts a video hosted by Vimeo onto the page. The video must have already been uploaded to Vimeo. You can insert the vimeo link here.
    30. Vimeo with Markdown - Vimeo hosted video on the left, text on the right
    31. YouTube - Inserts a video hosted by Youtube onto the page. The video must have already been uploaded to Youtube. You can insert the Youtube link here.

Uploading files

    1. Click the pencil icon
    2. Hit the “Upload” button
    3. Select your file and hit open

Set up User ID Tracking in Google Analytics

  1. Follow the instruction provided. You can mostly ignore step two as we have already implemented the tracking code into Eco/Guidebook. Just leave Session unification on.

Saving your changes

    1. When you are satisfied with all of your changes, hit the “Publish” button. Do not close the browser or exit your section without publishing your changes, or you will lose them!
