Imperial Oil Kearl Oil Sands Project is an ICOM client. They use both their own LMS WebCAT. They formerly used SumTotal and an ICOM Tracking CDs.

IOL requires customized SCORM 1.2 packages for SumTotal.

I had a meeting with IOL yesterday and they have requested that a slight change to the SumTotal testing process be implemented.

Going forward, once any IOL course beta version has been approved, we will the upload that version to a SumTotal Sandbox environment for us to complete the UAT testing. Once we have completed the UAT testing, I will send a request to Narayanappa, Manjunatha <manjunatha.narayanappa@exxonmobil.com> to request a link to their ShareFile site and upload the course there. At this point, they will add the course to SumTotals production environment where they will finalize the testing on their own.

We have been given uploading privileges so that will not be an issue. They are also completing instructions on how to upload a course to SumToal.

IOL courses need a high completion_percentage so users watch a majority of the lesson:

The Brain version needs to be 3.795 or greater.

structure.xml

All lessons (not assessments) need track_on=threshold instead of track_on=next. This is because a bug in track_on=next allows cheating through the menu.

Zipping

We have had issues using the default zip application from CourseBuilder with their LMS. Use 7zip or Windows default zip application, 7zip is preferred.

SumTotal

Every 3 months or so, we copy production database data to the stage environment. Each time this is done, your pw will need to be reset
